Report to Seline Jerick of the Stirk Fellowship, from Scout Zirpar Faram
We know this much from the Sunport Archives. Gristmung Hold was constructed on the foundations of an ancient Daedric edifice which dates to before the first founding of Solstice by the Argonians. It was an abandoned ruin until the arrival of the Corelanya Clan. Upon the founding of Sunport, the Corelanyas rebuilt portions of the hold to guard an important bottleneck between the eastern and western parts of the island. Situated atop a small plateau, the location made for an excellent defensive position, and the hold was sparsely reinforced. The citadel ceased to be a major military outpost with the peace between the Stone-Nest tribes and the Corelanya Elves. In the years that followed, it was a major trading hub for both groups, and Stone-Nest Argonians guarded its walls. With the rise of the Worm Cult, the site was captured by Wormblood's forces shortly before the Writhing Wall was erected. The fate of the original Stone-Nest guards is unknown, but they are presumed lost.
Following the creation of the Writhing Wall, the Worm Cult has apparently significantly restored and rebuilt the original Daedric structure in a style more fitting for Coldharbour than Nirn. Captured cultists indicate that the hold has been expanded to cover the entire plateau, using recruited and enslaved Stone-Nest workers. Daedric support troops and devices have been imported to reinforce the location.
With the fall of the Writhing Wall, I will continue to press on to report on other sites in Eastern Solstice. Other scouts may provide additional information.
