I read through the journal you carried back to me. I have read it again and again, as if the words might change if I stare hard enough. Nedras did terrible things. He also did them for me. That truth sits in my chest like a stone I cannot swallow.

I do not know what to do with my grief, or my shame. I only know that you did not have to come to Northsalt at all, but you did. I will try to live long enough to make that choice, to make Nedras's choice, mean something.
